"The world has become a small village" is a famous sentence that we heard a lot after the spread of the Internet, as if we live with people on another continent as if we are in the same country. This is due to the fact that the Internet connects all countries to each other, which facilitated access to information and services all over the world. As there are many benefits to networking, we will undertake this course

Since there are many benefits to networks, we will, in this course, introduce the science of networks with their components, wired and wireless types, models of interconnections between their parts and the mechanism in which they operate, as well as introduce students to relevant international protocols and standards. We will also discuss the concept of addressing networks and how to divide them up to the identification of the domain (DNS) and how it works, as it links information and addresses with domain names, which in turn provides an easy way for users to interact with and communicate with the network's addresses.

It is worth noting that there is a practical part at the end of the course consisting of four laboratories to learn how to network two devices together, in addition to designing and establishing a wired or wireless network and connecting all network components to a common printer.

But it is very important to clarify that this course is only an introduction to the topic and the beginning of the road, and we will cooperate with the Edraak platform in order to make an advanced course. We hope that everyone benefits.

What You Will Learn

  • Learn what networks are, with their different components, types, and methods of connecting and configuring them
  • How to address networks and previous categories
  • Identify network locations
  • Learn the basics of networks, namely designing and modifying small networks
  • Expand the student’s awareness of the networked world
  • Produce cadres capable of installing, activating, and repairing (processing) networks
  • The ability to link a peer-to-peer device
  • Wire mesh design using a distributor
  • The ability to link devices to a shared printer
  • Create a wireless network and change the password for it

Module 1: Introduction to Networks

In this module, we will learn about the definition of networks and a history of them, and the most important benefits of using networks, whether in the workplace, at home, or even in the world. We will also learn about general and important definitions in the world of networks to help you understand the world of networks in a simple way.

Module 2: Types of Networks

Networks are divided into several types, so you can divide them into work networks or by network access. Where the internal network inside your company or your home differs from the global internet in terms of geographical distribution, and this is what we will get to know in detail in this unit.

Module 3: Components of networks

In this module, we will learn about the division of networks in terms of the network method, where there is a wired network and a wireless network. Where we will learn about the components of each network in them and what are the most important baskets and answers for each of them, and examples of use cases for each type.

Module 4: Addressing Networks and DNS Domain

In this module, there were linking models in local connectivity, and we're going to introduce extended transmission to learn about OSI and the use of each layer. We will learn the difference between TCP & UDP, in addition to a basic element in the network, which is addressing networks' IP address. And of course, we will talk about the domain of the DNS.

Module 5: Lab 1

In this module, we will explain how crossed cables change the IP of devices. We will connect two devices and verify the network device. We will explain how the straight cable works and then create a shared file between the two files through the network.

Module 6: Lab 2

In this module, the results of together, share through the network, which helps us to save resources. You are accessing the wireless network.
